When you enable original sound in Zoom, you are able to use the audio directly from your microphone without any of Zoom’s echo cancellation or audio-enhancing algorithms affecting the audio. This feature is useful for high-quality audio equipment that already has these features built-in. Since your devices already have these features, you’ll want to enable Zoom’s original sound option to prevent your hardware from conflicting with Zoom. So, let’s go over how to enable the in-meeting option for Zoom original sound through the desktop client.
1. Let’s get started by launching the Zoom desktop client on either your Mac or PC.
2. After launching the application, select the settings icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
3. Then select the “Audio Settings” tab on the left-hand side.
4. Click “Advanced” in the bottom right corner of the screen and check the box to “Show in meeting option to ‘Enable Original Sound’ from microphone”.
Note: If this option is unavailable, contact your IT Admin and provide them with the instructions below to enable original sound permissions Admin Advanced Settings on the web browser.
